Location: Austin, TX (Local travel required)

Employment Type: Part-Time to Full-Time, hourly (Hybrid Remote /On-Site)

Role Overview

We are looking for a versatile IT Systems Technician to join our team. This role is unique: you’ll be the face of our company, providing high-touch technical support directly at client residences and business offices across the Austin area, while also managing sophisticated infrastructure remotely.

The ideal candidate doesn't just "fix computers"—they build trust and ensure our clients' digital lives run seamlessly, whether they are in a high-rise office or a home studio.

Key Responsibilities

  • On-Site Presence: Provide white-glove hardware and network support at client homes and business locations.

  • Cloud & Infrastructure: Deploy and manage cloud environments (Azure/AWS/M365) and ensure 99.9% uptime for business-critical services.

  • Automation & AI: Implement AI-driven workflows and automation tools to streamline client operations.

  • Managed Security: Monitor threat landscapes, manage firewalls, and execute endpoint protection protocols.

  • Continuity & Recovery: Manage robust data backup systems and lead recovery efforts during localized outages.

  • Remote Support: Resolve Tier 1–3 tickets via our RMM tools with speed and precision.

Technical Qualifications

Category Requirements
Networking Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, VLANs, and mesh Wi-Fi systems (UniFi, Eero, etc.).
Cloud Proficiency in Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, and Cloud Backup solutions.
Security Experience with MFA, VPNs, and SOC/EDR monitoring tools.
General IT Hardware repair (Mac/PC), peripheral troubleshooting, and mobile device management.
Bonus Experience with AI integration tools (Zapier, OpenAI API, Copilot).

Requirements & Logistics

  • Mobility: Must have a reliable vehicle and a valid driver’s license for travel within the Greater Austin area (reimbursement provided).

  • Communication: Ability to explain complex technical issues to non-technical clients with patience and clarity.

  • Adaptability: Comfortable working in professional office environments one day and residential settings the next.

  • Proactive Mindset: You look for the "problem behind the problem" to prevent future tickets.

Why Join FTS?

  • Competitive Austin-market salary and performance bonuses.

  • Flexible hybrid schedule (Remote work when not on-site).

  • Exposure to cutting-edge AI and Automation tech.

  • A culture that values autonomy and continuous learning.
